I had always been interested in furthering my engineering education as well as possibly going after an MBA.  As an experienced manager within my engineering organization, I have often found myself having to deal with business concepts and accounting methods that I was not familiar with.  To better communicate with my leadership peers and to move up further within the organization I wanted to further my understanding of finance, strategic management, and leadership principles.  When I found the MSEM program at UARK I got excited because it included both advanced engineering courses that directly applied to the products that I am responsible for as well as the management skills and education that I needed.

I can honestly say that I have been able to directly apply the knowledge gained in each course that I took in this program to real world problems that I have faced in leading a large engineering organization.  Additionally, this program has given me additional confidence as a manager and leader within my organization and I am leveraging that confidence to be more assertive in my current role.  With this confidence and the skills that this program has given me I believe that I will be able to further my career and move up within my organization more quickly than I would have without it.
