When looking into graduate programs, I wanted to stay within engineering so that I could broaden my technical skills, but I also wanted to incorporate the business aspect as well. The Master’s for Engineering Management allowed me to do just that. I had the ability to take challenging engineering courses that furthered my education in topics that interested me such as statistics, modeling, and operations research. I have also been able to learn about the inner workings of businesses and the techniques used by managers within them.

This degree will help differentiate me from others as I begin my professional career. I have been lucky to receive a well-rounded education from the University of Arkansas, and I feel well prepared to use the tools I have learned in my everyday life. I hope to pursue a career in the medical field, to improve operations and ultimately help others. The MSEM program has made me confident that I can accomplish this through my managerial and technical skills. I am very grateful to the professors and advisors that have helped me during my time at the U of A, and I am excited to explore what’s next!
