I was looking to move into an executive role and felt I needed a master’s degree to compliment all my years of experience. I had a cousin that graduated from the University of Arkansas, and I had always had a mad fascination with the Hog’s as I used to get his hand me down shirts back in the day. When it came time to look at my degree options, I looked around locally and did not see anything that interested me or my schedule. When I looked at Arkansas the clouds parted, and I saw the light! An actual degree in Operations Management?! This is exactly what I am doing and has the courses I need to enhance my career opportunities. It has been a great experience having the flexibility with 100% online learning and the ability to set my own schedule and intensity of learning. The instructors have been great and occasionally they have even been flexible with assignments due to my work commitments. My biggest takeaway from the program, aside from the learning from the classes, has been the improved ability in which I look at problems. These classes have truly improved my skills and the way I make decisions using data. I intend to pursue an executive position when the opportunity arises following my graduation in December 2022.
