Matthew Meleton
I chose the Masters of Science in Operations Management program at the University of Arkansas because the courses in the curriculum applied to the world of business and their relationship with the world of manufacturing. I began working for an OEM in March of 2020. With the goal to expand my knowledge and understanding of both business and manufacturing, I enrolled in the MSOM program during the Fall of 2020.
Some of the classes I enjoyed the most were Project Management, Supply-Chain Management, Risk Management, and Quality Management. Main take-always included the understanding and importance of critical path, inventory control, risk mitigation, and problem-solving methods. Lessons learned in the curriculum have already been beneficial and will continue to be beneficial in my current role and roles to come.
I’d encourage anyone interested in manufacturing, industrial engineering, lean inventory control, project management, supply chain, and operations management, to give the MSOM program a chance.
