I enlisted in the Navy in 2000 as a Master at Arms (Military Police Officer) and currently still serving. However, after serving for 20 years of service, I will be transitioning to the civilian sector.  After discussing my retirement plans, a friend who graduated from the MSOM program recommended I obtain my MBA before retiring.

I decided to pursue my MSOM from the University of Arkansas to gain a better understanding and knowledge base of Operations Management. I have always had an interest in business and finance. Once I separate from the military, I knew that I need to get the best education I could to succeed after my military career. I intend to begin a career as a program manager or operations manager for the Department of Defense.

My favorite classes were Project Management, Strategic Management, and Finance for Operations Managers because the transition of concepts learned to real-life implementation was comparatively flawless. Overall, the program made me a better leader, patient and gave me a further understanding of the Operations Management world. I will certainly use the skills learned in my future endeavors as a civilian! I highly recommend the MSOM program!
