“After finishing my bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management at the University of Arkansas, I was looking for a master’s program that is a STEM-designated program and could provide me with a good foundation in operations management including many aspects such as change management, project management, or quality management. After searching for information on the course website and asking for advice from my friend who was also a graduate student in the MSOM program, I decided to select the MSOM program to pursue my master’s degree.

There are many things that I enjoyed and preferred this specific MSOM program over many master’s programs such as affordable tuition fees, a flexible schedule to match your working schedule, an 8-week session compared to a regular 16-week, and the applicability of all courses into your career almost immediately.

In my opinion, all courses that I picked were super helpful and I enjoyed them all. However, the two classes that I enjoyed the most were Change management and Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Change management has taught me a lot of useful and powerful knowledge about how to manage, control, and reduce the negative impacts of changes in both your organizations and daily life. Since my bachelor’s degree was in supply chain management, I could understand the importance and the potential of using drones in the supply chain industry. Taking the UAS course was an important step to prepare me for the future applications of drones. After studying the UAS course, I took and passed the FAA’s remote pilot test to become a certificated remote pilot.

The MSOM program at the University of Arkansas is hands down a perfect program that is designed to help students succeed in their future careers no matter what industry they are working in. I would definitely recommend this course to all of my friends and colleagues who will be interested in getting a useful and applicable master’s program. Lastly, I would like to appreciate all of the MSOM’s professors and staff for walking me through the program successfully.”
