“I found the Operations Management program at The University of Arkansas after I took an Operations class during the last semester of my undergrad degree. I was so intrigued by the operational processes behind everyday business processes and wanted to learn more.
I enjoyed the ability to take classes at my own pace throughout the program and that many of my classmates were also remote learners. I also enjoyed the flexibility in elective classes which allowed me to also study Project Management and prepare to take the PMP exam. Through the economic decision making, strategic management, and project management classes I learned to think critically under pressure, make sound decisions based off of the data for the best possible outcome for the firm or project, and how to apply those skills in my job when beginning a new project or solving problems during one.
I spend a good bit of my time in my current position forecasting financials for projects, so accuracy and the ability to think outside the box is critical to the efficiency of the job, and the MSOM program definitely helped me expand and grow these skills.”
